2017

It's another new year and like all new years, I try to commit myself to a resolution (or a few). In past years, it's been to either read more, blog more (which was last years and I obviously didn't do that! - although I have started doing a monthly blog on my teaching website at the end of last year) or eat better.

This year I'm not committing myself to loads of resolutions, but they are;

  1. Lose weight
    - I've really let myself go over the past year, especially over Christmas! I'm at my worst ever weight of 9st 8lbs - I know you're thinking "that's barely anything!", but I'm quite petite and I'm borderline healthy weight/overweight on my BMI. I'm also supposed to be going to wedding dress fittings this month but looking at myself in the mirror earlier this week made me realise that I need to do something about my body as I don't feel confident or happy at all with it. So, I've joined my local gym, I got my induction done a few days ago (before all of the other Resolutioners) and I'm going to try and eat better. I'll try and keep this blog updated with my weight loss journey to help spur me on.
  2. Perform more music
    - I have played music for a majority of my life, even getting a degree in it, yet I only sing in front of a crowd at my student showcases. So my other resolution is to perform more - get out to open mics (I'm going to be running one from February!), record more Youtube covers, get booked for singing at weddings/events etc... becoming poorly whilst at university forced me to stop performing in public so now that I am much better I can get back into it, especially as it is something I really enjoy and I miss it so much.
I think that will be all for my resolutions for 2017, like I said last year I will try and keep you updated (but don't count on it, my track record isn't great lol).

So finally, I hope you have all had a fantastic New Year and that the coming year will bring you great things :)
