How I Wear Eyeliner

Friday, September 19, 2014

I always get people asking me how I put on eyeliner and do my eye make-up, when they consider how long I have been doing it (about 9 years!). I have recently changed up my eye make-up as I felt my eyeliner was too heavy. The main difference is that I don't really wear much on the bottom of my eye anymore and the line isn't so thick!

To start with, these are the eyeliners I am currently using - Collection 2000's Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner and Barry M's Kohl Pencil (both are in black).

Although the photo doesn't show it well, I have primed my eyelids and then used No. 7's Stay Perfect Eyeshadow in what I believe the colour 'Mushroom' (but don't quote me on that, I have a sample pot and there is no name on it!) all over my eyelid. This is what I am currently using as my everyday eyeshadow as it's really lovely as a neutral light brown that is great for teaching. With primer it stays put all day.

Next, I have used the Collection 2000 eyeliner to draw a line not quite from the corner of my eye to a flick at the edge. I try to keep the line thin to make my eye look bigger. I don't draw right from the corner of my eye as I feel it just opens up my eye a little bit more and it isn't so heavy.

I've then used the Barry M pencil to draw a faint line from the lower outer corner of my eye to nearly halfway in, and then I use my finger to smudge it a little.
I used to use this eyeliner to draw on my waterline and before that completely under my eye to the inner corner as well! I took heavy eyeliner to the extreme...

Now after this I just curled my eyelashes and added mascara, but it seems to be that I completely forgot to take a picture! (I probably got distracted) So that is how I currently do my eye make-up; on days I don't work I like to mix my eyeshadow colours up - mainly to plums and pinks.

I hope you've liked this post and let me know if you would like to see more like it! I like to play around with eyeshadows so if you have any eye make-up requests please comment below!
