First Ever Glossybox! - May 2014

Monday, May 19, 2014

A few weeks ago I decided to join Glossybox - I heard about it a few years ago but didn't have the money to sign up, but now me and my Mum have joined forces and are splitting the costs (and the Glossyboxes) for our monthly boxes! Our first box arrived the other day, Mum was that excited about it she couldn't wait to open it. Above is a picture I took of the box we received, and it's a special 'Superdrug' box! (Can't go wrong with a few Superdrug products...)

So, lets have a look at what we got this month!

I couldn't find a picture of the bottle itself, but this is what the colour looks like!
Maybelline New York Colorshow Crystallize Nail Polish - Nearly Black: Apart from the magazine and product list, this was the first thing to catch my eye. It was only last week I bought the 'Sugar Crystals' polish from this range and I absolutely love the colour and texture of that one, so I can't wait to try this one. (If only I could get my nails as long as those in the picture, but alas I am a pianist so can't have long nails!) In Superdrug, it costs £3.99, but I bought the other colour for £2.50 in Asda!

Collection 2000 Bronze Mosaic Glow: I recently bought a bronzer that I am quite happy with, so my Mum has kept hold of this one. I love the Collection brand, I used one of their powders for years until it was discontinued :( and it's really affordable. This bronzer smells quite nice too and the colours are pretty. The product list states this is £2.99 in Superdrug, so is a good buy depending on whether it would suit your complexion.

This looks like the colour I have, it has quite a lot of pink tones
B. Sheer Conditioning Lipstick in Raspberry Jam: I've never heard of this brand until I saw this lipstick in the Glossybox, and it looks lovely. I do love my pink lipsticks, and this seems more like a tint than a full on lipstick. It retails for £6.99 in Superdrug, but seems a bit costly considering it it quite small.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original 6 Effects Serum: I swore by Frizz-Ease when I was at school - my hair was a frizzy mess and I couldn't control it...that was until the Frizz-Ease range came out and I washed my hair with the shampoo and conditioner for about 3 years. I don't use the brand anymore but I am always in need of serum whenever I curl my hair. It is £3.99 in Superdrug.

Simple Kind to Skin + Illuminating Radiance Cream: I've kept this one as my skin at the moment is getting very dry, it might be because of the change in weather. It also has protection against UV rays which is a necessity for my skin as I am extremely pale (think pale as in I always buy the lightest foundations and concealers pale). It's a nice little bottle too that wouldn't take up too much room. It's £8.99 in Superdrug.

We also got 2 samples - the first being Garnier Oil Beauty Lotion. This has been taken by my Mum as I wouldn't really use it, but we have both heard great things about this. The other sample was for Ghost Fragrances Eclipse. This smells GORGEOUS. I've had to close my eyes and hand this over to my Mum (who also loves this) as I have far too many perfumes to get through already (I'm pretty much set for 2 more years). It retails at £33 for 50ml in Superdrug so it's a bit pricey, so maybe I'll get through the other perfumes I have and get it then :)

I'm hoping to keep writing what we get in our Glossyboxes, obviously most of the items this month are being kept by me (can't really see how my Mum would wear a Raspberry Jam lipstick), but maybe next month my Mum will keep most of them. I hope you've enjoyed this post, comment if you would like to see more and also what did you get in your Glossybox this month?
